BAKER, MARTHA SPILMAN - age 92, of Knoxville, died Friday, January 1, 1999. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, member of the Board of Directors of Knoxville Symphony Orchestra for over 50 years, past president of Knoxville Garden Club, and member of the Music Study Club. Widow of Martin Ross Baker, Sr. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Mary Tod Finch and Cabell B. Finch; son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Martin R. Baker, Jr. and Darlene K. Baker; grandchildren, Martin Ross Baker III and wife, Catherine, Mary Baker Hughes and husband, Matthew R. Hughes, John Tod Baker and wife, Dr. Leslie L. Baker, Sloane Baker Tillman and husband, Allen Tillman, Matthew M. Baker and wife, Caroline, Cabell Finch, Jr. and wife, Karin, Lewis Finch and wife, Lana, Katherine Paine and husband, Bark, Robert H. Baker and wife, Katherine; great-grandchildren, Travis Tillman, Taylor Tillman, Molly and Connor Hughes, Kathryn Baker, Braden and Bryce Finch. Funeral service Wednesday 2:00 p.m. at Second Presbyterian Church in the Chapel with Dr. Arnold Lovell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, 406 Union Ave., Knoxville, TN 37902 or the charity of your choice. Friends may call at their convenience at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
