Clabo age 83 of Sevierville, TN. passed away August 20, 2008 at St. Mary’s Residential Hospice in Knoxville, TN. He was a member of Middle Creek United Methodist Church and a World War II Veteran. J.L. was a retired farmer and was employed with Cherokee Textile Mills for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Eva Proffitt Clabo and brother-in-law, Wayne McCroskey. Survivors include his sister, Marie McCroskey and special cousins, Shirley and Gary McNight; Linda Rolen and Faye Large; aunts, Annette Proffitt and Molly Proffitt; uncle, Walter Minton, many other cousins and friends. Special Thanks is due all the wonderful staff at St. Mary’s Hospice and hospice nurse, Heidi Wiser. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Gideon’s International Sevierville-Kodak Camp, P.O. Box 5277 Sevierville, TN. 37864 Services will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2008 at Rawlings Funeral Home with Rev. Dewayne White officiating. Military services will be performed by local American Legion Post 104. Interment will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2008 in Middle Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2008 prior to the service.
