Johnie B. Caldwell, 75, of Newport, went to be with his Lord Thursday, October 17, 2002, at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County. He retired from Detroit Gasket and attended Gethsemane Freewill Baptist Church. His parents, John and Mary (Ball) Caldwell preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Addie (Cagle) Caldwell, of the home; sons, Danny Caldwell and his wife, Joyce, of Newport and Dennis Caldwell and his wife, Deborah, of Newport; daughters, Wanda Cates and her husband, Bob, of Newport, Glenda Lewis and her husband, Tim, of Sevierville, and Linda Anders and her husband, Gary, of Newport; sisters, Lois Jones and her husband, Ralph, of Johnson City, TN, Mary Danna, of Del Rio, Rebecca Taylor and her husband, Fred, of Charleston, WV, and Lillie Rathbone, of Del Rio; brothers, Julius Caldwell and his wife, Faye, of Del Rio and Jack Caldwell, of Del Rio, TN. Mr. Caldwell will also be missed by ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Saturday, October 19, 2002, at 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Anders and Rev. Dennis Caldwell officiating. Graveside service will be Sunday, October 20, 2002, at 12 p.m. at Clark Cemetery at Deep Gap. The family received friends Saturday evening, October 19, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the service. Brown Funeral Home has been honored to provide the final arrangements for Mr. Johnie B. Caldwell.
