Boyd Campbell, 91, of Newport, passed away Friday morning at the Baptist Hospital of Cocke County. Boyd was a member of the Clay Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Golden Campbell and children, Tommy Campbell, Elizabeth Ann Campbell, and Aileen Martin. Survivors include his children, Mildred Baker, of Parrottsville, Lloyd and Hobart Campbell, of Bybee, Edward Campbell, Claude Campbell, A.J. Campbell, and Georgia Clark, all of Newport; five devoted daughters-in-law and two sons-in-law; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Ralph Campbell, of Knoxville; sister, Charlsie Shelton, of Newport; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Tivis and Bill Smith, of Frankfort, Indiana; and a host of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Brown Funeral Chapel. Interment in the Clay Creek Cemetery.
