Alfred Thomas Hitson, age 86 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He attended Maple Grove Baptist Church and preceded in death by wife, Mary Novella Hitson; parents, George and Maudie Hitson; and brothers, Eugene, Keith, Winfred and William Hitson. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Mildred and Ron Malcomb of Mobile, Alabama and Erma and Steve Rushing of Kingsport, TN; grandchildren and spouses, George Wesley and Susan Malcomb, Mike and Amy Rushing, Anthony and Kristin Rushing and Jeff Rushing; great-grandchildren, Austin and Eli Rushing; brother, Howard Hitson of Phoenix, Arizona; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and J.T. Lane of Walker Town, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2005 at Miller Funeral Home Cedar Chapel, Rev. Arkie Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
