Gordon J.D. Douglas, 74, of Bybee, died November 23, at Takoma Hospital, in Greeneville.
He was a farmer and retired from Berkline. He attended Bruner's Grove Methodist Church and was a member of Warrensburg Masonic Lodge #631.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Bonnie Douglas, and a sister, Minnie Holbert.
He is survived by his wife, Vernie Douglas, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Scottie and Herbert Smith, of Parrottsville; grandson, Heath Douglas Smith, of Parrottsville; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and James Steppe, of Parrottsville, and sisters, Bobbie Satterfield, of Morristown, and JoAnn Jones, of Newport; brother and sister-in-law, Aubrey and Joyce Douglas, of Morristown; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Jim Bettis, of Greeneville, and Betty and Joe Killion, of Mohawk; and seven nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 26, at 2 p.m. at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Brewer officiating. Interment will be in the Bruner's Grove Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday, November 25, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home. Masonic rites will be con ducted at 8 p.m. by the Warrensburg Masonic Lodge #631.
