Emma Lee Stokely Williams passed away on August 12, 2014 following an extended illness. Born in Newport, TN on December 19, 1919, Mrs. Williams was the daughter of the late Marvin Murray Stokely and Emma Robinson Stokely. A long-time resident of Hilton Head Island, SC and Brevard, NC, Mrs. Williams was most recently a resident of the Jane Bruce Guignard Neighborhood of the Still Hopes Episcopal Retirement Community in West Columbia, SC. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Howard Williams, USN (Ret), her son Robert Turner Morison, as well as her brothers Murray Marvin Stokely and Dave Robinson Stokely. Survivors include her niece Wyline Stokely (Edward) Holder of Greenville, SC nephews Dave (Darlene) Stokely of Charleston, SC, Morgan (Joyce) Stokely of Columbia, SC, and Murray Stokely of Jacksonville, FL, cousin Beth Runnion of Newport, as well as numerous great and great-great nephews and nieces. A graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery (Newport) on August 20, 2014 at 1:00 pm with Scott Gorrell officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be directed to the Still Hopes Employee Assistance Fund (Still Hopes Episcopal Retirement Community, P. O. Box 2959, West Columbia, SC 29171). Manes Funeral Home (Newport) is in charge of arrangements.
