Died: 12-05-2001 Eston R. Dockery, Johnson City, died Wednesday, December 5, 2001 in the Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Del Rio, he had lived most of his life in Johnson City and was a son of the late David L. and Harriet Lee Dockery.
He served in the United States Army.
He retired as a Sales Manager for Tennessee Motor Company, Johnson City.
Mr. Dockery was a member of First Christian Church, where he served on the Board of Elders and Deacons.
Five brothers, Hugh, Clyde, L.D., Lattie, and B.L. Dockery; and three sisters, Gertie Bailey, Elsie Raines, and Willie Messer, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Mary James Dockery; a daughter, Brenda Dockery, Denver, Colorado; two sons, Ray Dockery, Rock Hill, South Carolina; and David Dockery, Johnson City; sister, Joyce Cox, Greeneville; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday from the Morris-Baker South Chapel with Dr. Don Jeanes and Dr. Robert Fife officiating.
Committal services will follow in the Monte Vista Burial Park. Pallbearers will be nephews.
For those who prefer, the family suggests memorial contributions be given to the Boys Club of Johnson City, 2210 W. Market Street, Johnson City, TN 37604.
