Benton Davis, 93, of Parrottsville, passed away Wednesday morning, September 30, in Cosby, at the home of his daughter, Bobbie Garver.
Benton attended Forrest Hill Baptist Church in Parrottsville.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Gladys Thomas.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie and Fred Garver, of Cosby; sisters, Pauline Street, of Johnson City, Ruby and her husband, Leroy Cobble, of Morristown; sisters-in-law, Margaret Davis, of Bybee and Mary Kate Davis, of Morristown; brother, Fred and his wife, Virginia Davis, of Talbott; brothers-in-law, Albert Thomas, of Parrottsville, and Dewey and his wife, Evalena Thomas, of Bybee; grandson, Mark and his wife, Jacki Garver, of Cosby; great-grandchildren, Bruce Garver, of Pigeon Forge, and Allie Garver and Eric Garver, of Cosby.
The funeral was at 2 p.m. Friday, October 2, at the Brown Funeral Chapel with Rev. Robert Walker and Rev. Jim Dampier officiating. Interment was in the Glendale Methodist Church Cemetery.
The nephews served as pallbearers.
The family received friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday evening at Brown Funeral Home.
Brown Funeral Home is in charge.
