Steve D. Godfrey, age 48, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2002.
He now joins his father, Kenneth Godfrey; mother, Helen Godfrey; grandfathers, Mac Godfrey and Tip Cogburn; grandmother, Lilly Cogburn; and nephew, Jamie Knight, in heaven.
He is survived by his sister, Donna Taylor; his loving fiancée, Doris Holt; grandmother, Stella Mae Godfrey; niece, Racquel Knight; aunts and uncles, Cliff and Louise Shelton, Howell and Frankie Wright, Walter and Sue Medlin, R.D. and Elaine Cogburn, Charles and Mae Cogburn, Carolyn and Doyle McGaha, and Evelyn Webb; very special friends, Hershell and Teresa Williams, The Peaceful Few, co-workers at Great Lakes Chemical and Ball Corporation; and a host of special cousins; and his special little friend and dog, Muff.
The family will be receiving friends from 6 until 9 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2002 at Manes Funeral Home with funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday, January 18, 2002, with Rev. Eddie Young and Billy Shelton officiating with burial in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Blake Bible, Dale (Wilbur) Wilson, Mitch Coakley, Willie Ellison, and Ronnie Barrett; honorary pallbearers will be Jim Ellison and Clifford Myers.
Manes Funeral Home in charge.
