Viva M. Smith, age 86, a resident of Del Rio, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, February 16, 2016.
Viva attended Del Rio First Church of God. She was known by most for her famous fried apple pies and her stack cakes. She will be remembered for her vivacious spirit and willingness to help those in need.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hugh S. Smith, son Sam H. Smith, her parents, Floyd and Melvina Reece, sisters, Katherine Long, Shirley Kelch, Mary Ross, brothers, Leon and Eugene Reece, mother-in-law, Chattie S. Rainwater, and her beloved brother-in-law, Joseph Stokely Rainwater.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane Smith, granddaughter, Sheila Howard, sisters, Linda Bible, Jerusha Campbell, brother, Isaace Reece, many nieces and nephews, special friend and cousin, Virginia Stokely, caregiver, Janet Jones, and a host of dear friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 19, 2016 from 5pm-7pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 7pm with Rev. Harold Jones officiating. Burial will take place in the A.J. Stokely Family Cemetery Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 12 noon.
