He was born in Sevier County and moved Chelan County, Washington in 1950 to work in the timber industry and raise his family. He returned to Sevier County in 1972. Survivors: Wife of 58 years: Joyce (McCarter) Franklin Daughters: Deanna McCarter of Gatlinburg; Sandy Howard and husband Al of Cashmere, WA; Tricia Franklin of Malaga, WA. Son: Don Franklin of Gatlinburg Grandsons: Phillip and Seth McCarter Granddaughter: Mandy Franklin Sister: Eza Jean Finchum of Sevierville Brother: George Young Franklin of Cashmere, WA. Nine nieces and nephews Funeral service 7 PM Monday in the Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Glenn Cardwell and Rev. Ben Whitted officiating.
