Emily “Gene” Porter Hembree age 95 of Sevierville, TN. passed away on June 24, 2009 at her residence.
She was of the Primitive Baptist Faith.
Gene retired from the Arrow Craft Shop in Gatlinburg after being employed there for twenty-seven years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Henry Porter and Millie Melinda Ferguson Porter; husband, Herman Hembree and Conrad Ellison; daughter, Grace Hembree; brothers, Cam, John, Elisha and Meed Porter; sisters, Frances Cardwell, Kate Tillson and Carrie Franklin.
Survivors include her children, Eugene Hembree and wife, Debra of Sevierville; Ruby Baldwin and husband, Fred of Ohio and Chester Hembree of Sevierville. Grandchildren, Brian and Chrissy Hembree,Tim Hembree, Kathy and Roy Reynolds, Patty Reynolds, David and Mary Baldwin and Milissa and Jeff Manco; great grandchildren, fifteen and great, great grandchildren, eight; sister-in-law, Lura Porter of Gatlinburg and Edith Hembree of Maryville; Several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to especially thank special caregivers, Betty Bryant, Elaine Gunter, Anita Hurst, and Shirley Branam for the care and love they have shown Gene and the family.
Services will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2009 at Rawlings Funeral Home with Elder Shirley Henry and Rev. Ed Parton officiating
Interment will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009 in Shady Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4:00- 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, at Rawlings.
