Juanita Parks Mullins, age 81, of Erwin, TN, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at her daughter's house in Clarksville, TN. Born in Cocke County, TN, she was the daughter of the late William Monroe Parks and Susie Jane Parks. She was a nurse and former foreign missionary. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Erwin, TN for approximately 36 years and was always looking to help others with her generous heart. She was a loving spouse, mother, grandmother and friend. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Lawrence Darrell Mullins, who passed away November 27, 2001, two infant children, Miriam Len Mullins and Brian Mullins, two brothers, Roe Parks, Jr. and Everett Parks, and a sister, Arlone Parks. Juanita leaves behind four children: Stephen Mullins, Pittsburgh, PA, Brent Mullins and wife, Kim, Memphis, TN, Marcia Smyth and husband, Philip, Clarksville, TN, and Para Smith and husband, Dave, New Kent, VA; eight grandchildren: Nicholaus Smyth, Monique Smyth, Deylan Smith, Austin Smith, Trinity Smyth, Carson Mullins, Tanner Smith, and Jack Mullins; two sisters: Marjorie Teague and Jewelene Travis. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, September 21, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Erwin, TN. Reverend Joe Stacker will be be officiating the service. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church on Sunday. Graveside services will be held immediately following the service at Monte Vista Cemetery in Johnson City, TN. In lieu of flowers, Juanita requested that donations be made to Gospel For Asia at Gospel for Asia, 1800 Golden Trail Court, Carrollton, Texas 75010, website: www.gfa.org.
