Heavy rains and high winds caused a giant oak tree to topple, narrowly missing vehicles and people at the home of Tommy and Tracy Ball, off Old Sevierville Highway. Tracy Ball said that a late afternoon/early evening storm caused the tree to fall. "The storm sounded like a tornado," she said. The Balls' children, Dustin and C.J., were riding four-wheelers minutes before, when their parents told them to stop and go into the house. "Just a minute after they drove by the tree, it fell," said Tommy Ball. He operates his own stucco business, and the tree blocked the driveway to his work building and vehicle. "I guess I'll be cutting wood today," he said.
