Bessie O’Dell Justus, of Newport, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017. She was retail manager of the Holley Shop and Watson’s for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.E. (Ed) Justus; parents, J.B O’Dell, Sr. and Rillie O’Dell; brothers and sisters, Mary Murr, Ellie Shropshire, William O’Dell, Bonnie Spradling, J. B. O’Dell, Jr, Mamie Cobb, Harding O’Dell, Tom O’Dell, Sam O’Dell and Pearl Gray. She is survived by her son, Bill Justus of Newport; daughter, Polly Justus, of Knoxville; special friends, Gary and Kathy Sorrell; several nieces, nephews, other family and numerous friends. Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm Thursday, June 8, 2017 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Bill Murr and Rev. Scott Gorrell officiating. Burial will be held 2:00 pm Friday, June 9, 2017 in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Thursday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service. The family would like to say a special “Thank you” to Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice Staff, Rachel Ullery, Vera Norton, Chelsie Duncan, Glen Bradley, Debbie Williams, Charlie Grooms and Dr. David McConnell. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Providence Baptist Church, P. O.
