Junior S. Hurst, age 91, of Newport, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henderson & Elsie Hurst; wife, Frances Hurst; daughter, Lois Diane Hurst; brothers, Seabrun Hurst & Tom Williams; sisters, Jewel Banks & Vera Day.
He is survived by his sons, Kenneth (Brenda) Hurst & Charles (Mary) Hurst; daughter Susan (Roger) Cameron; brothers, Raymond (Edna) & Cleo (Mary Lou) Hurst; sister, Joyce Hurst; sister-in-law, Reba Hurst; grandchildren, Robert (Sonya) Hurst, Angie (Charlie) Williams, Charlotte Hurst, & Kelly (Daniel) Martinez; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Addison, London, Jace, Xzavier, Aiden, & Wynter; and great-grandson Liam; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 7PM in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Jackie Caldwell officiating. The family will receive friends from 5PM-7PM prior to the service.
Burial will be Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 11AM at Union Cemetery. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the caring staff at Tennova Newport Convalescent Center.
