He was a member of the Newport Church of Christ. He was a Church of Christ Minister, a retired employee of Wood Products and a veteran, having served in the United States Army during WWII. He is survived by his wife, Thelma E. Massey of Newport; son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Shelia Massey of Blythewood, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Ilene and Larry Rinehart of Dandridge; sisters, Mary Ann Shelton and Edna Stokley both of Newport; grandchildren, Brian Rinehart of Morristown, Scott Rinehart and wife Tara of Dandridge, Lauren Massey of Newnan, GA; great grandchildren, Sydney Rinehart and Ayden Rinehart both of Dandridge; also nieces, nephews and other family. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, November 4, 2006 in Manes Funeral home Chapel, with burial in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday, November 3, 2006 at Manes Funeral Home.
