U.S. Veteran Brownlow Lewis age 81 of Newport passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Newport Medical Center. He was a veteran having served in the United States Navy. He is preceded in death by his first wife Estelle Jones Lewis, son Joel Curtis Lewis, parents Ceton L. and Ollie M. Lewis, brothers Glenn Lewis and J.B. Lewis. He is survived by his wife Elaine S. Lewis, daughter Evelyn Lewis Webster, sisters Pauline Lee of La Mesa, California, Georgia Phillips of Newport, Mattie Nell Sather of La Mesa, California, Mary Lou Mann of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Betty Jean Freeman of Newport, and extended family of nieces and nephews. Per his request no services will be held and his body will be cremated. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the National Forest Service, Save The Forest Fund.
