Died: 12-04-2001 James Edgar Mann, 79, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2001 in a local hospital.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a charter member of the St. Andrews Class.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from Bowater after thirty-five years of service.
Mr. Mann was the son of the late Fred and Leah Mann and was also preceded in death by his brother, Harlen Mann.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Lewis Mann, of Cleveland; one son, Steven Mann, of Cleveland; one daughter, Shelley Whipple, of Cullman, Alabama; grandson, Brandon Whipple, of Cullman, Alabama; and granddaughter, Kristen Whipple, of Cullman, Alabama.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Rev. Rusty Taylor officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens with Ernest Adams, A.J. Arthur, Ken Adcock, Frank Calfee, Lynn Gobble, and Cliff Lynch serving as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the St. Andrews Class.
His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 3000 Commerce Drive, NE, Cleveland.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Christian Life Center at First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 4228, Cleveland, TN 37320.
