DOWKER, MR. DAVID CHARLES - went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 20, 2007 after a courageous two and 1/2 year fight against lung cancer. He worked at Southern Silk Mills, Allied Chemicals, Goody's, where he was Goody's Employee of the Year in 1992. After leaving Goody's, he went on to start his own business, Dave's Painting. He was an avid NASCAR fan and he loved spending time at his lake property. He was baptized into Jesus Christ on Jan. 11, 2006 and was faithful until death. He was a member of Post Oak Springs Christian Church. Preceded in death by sister, Sue Dowker Reichart; father, J.C. Dowker. He will be sadly missed by his: wife of 46 years: Helen Dowker; only daughter: Suzanne Dowker Emmert & husband, Keith; three grandchildren: Samantha, Seth & Jessica; mother: Mary Dowker; brothers: Don Dowker, Steve Dowker & wife, Connie; brothers-in-law: Willard Franklin & Kermit Franklin; other family & friends. The family will receive friends Friday, November 23, 2007 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Evans Mortuary. Funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Keith Emmert & Rev. Patrick McMullen officiating. Graveside service will be Saturday, November 24 at 11:00 a.m. in the Oak Grove Cemetery. An online register is available at www.evansmortuary.net
