(August 19, 1931 - March 21, 2016) Duaine Everett Shults, aged 84, passed away peacefully at his home in the Denton Community on Monday, March 21, 2016. He was a member of Denton Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and was retired after 35 years of service with American Enka / BASF. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Nell Shults; parents, Ott & Josie Shults; brother, Larry Shults; sister, Darlene Smith; and infant sister Vanelda Shults. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Lisa Penland Shults of Maryville; grandson, Ashley Shults and wife Shari of Maryville; granddaughter Madalyn Shults of Richmond, Kentucky; great-grandson, Blake Shults of Maryville; sisters June Johnson, Lita Russell and husband, Alvin; sister-in-law Paula “Midge” Shults, special friend, Tammy Rollins, and several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 6PM in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ransom Hall officiating. The family will receive friends from 4PM-6PM prior to the service. Burial will be Friday, March 25, 2016 at 11AM in the McMillan Cemetery.
