Elizabeth (Betty) Cody, age 82, of Newport, passed away, Monday, May 14, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Cody, Jr., after 61 years of marriage; and brother, E. B. (Burt) McMillan. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Everette Pack of Radford, VA., and Gail and Don Collins of Newport; grandchildren, are Jeffrey and Diana Pack of Radford,VA, Michael Pack of Cummings, GA, Donna and Wade Tippins of Birmingham, AL, and Greg Collins of Los Angeles, CA. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, Bethany and Aaron Pack of VA., Jessica and Rachel of GA., and Cody and Alexandra Tippins of AL; other survivors include sister, Nedra Bourbon of Sarasota, FL.; brother, Eugene (Bud) McMillan of Newport. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff at Baptist Convalescent Center, Dr. Thomas Conway and Kim Thomas for their loving care of their mother. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at Manes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 16, 2007 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Rich Lloyd officiating. Burial following in Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the church or charity of your choice.
