March 4, 1917 - June 18, 2015 Resided in Sevierville, TN Thomas Owens Jr., age 98 of Sevierville went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 18, 2015. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved the Lord and loved reading the word of God. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and making music, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandkids. Tommy earned a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart along with many other medals in the Army's 3rd Calvary during World War II. After the military he worked at Cherokee Textile Mill for over 35 years where he retired at the age of 65. Thomas Owens Jr. was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Owens Sr.; mother, Elanor "Thomas" Owens; son, Billy Owens; brother, Ed Owens; sister, Dorothy "Owens" Summers. He is survived by his loving wife, Aileen D. "Ownby" Owens; brother, Wilfred Owens; sons, Bobby Owens Sr., Tommy Owens, Ronnie Owens; daughter, Dorothy Loveday; grandchildren, Bo Owens, Rebekah Owens, Brandon Owens, Todd Owens, Buddy Owens, Robbie Owens, Christy Maples, April Loveday; great-grandchildren, Madison Rae Owens, Bryson Maples, Olivia Maples, Wyatt Maples, Anthony Scott. A special thanks to Carolyn and Florence with hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Red Bank Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 12 – 1:45pm at First Redbank Baptist Church on Saturday, June 20th. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Mitch Ayers and Rev. Bobby Owens officiating.
