Charles Edward "Ed" Johnson, age 84 of Seymour, TN passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Tennova Residential Hospice surrounded by his family. Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a devout member of Providence Baptist Church in Seymour, TN. He was a retired Tech Sergeant from the United States Air Force, and also a retired Sergeant from the University of Tennessee Medical Center Police Department. Charles was a member of the Sevier Masonic Lodge No. 334.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years; Delores Hood Johnson, three sons and spouses; DeWayne (Patti) of Seymour, Steven (Sharon) of North Carolina, and Paul (Rita) of Seymour, grandchildren and spouses; Jeromy (Heather) Johnson, Brooke (Justin) Huffaker, Justin (Meredith) Johnson, Jessica (Stefan) Andreas, and Lauren Johnson with fiancé Brice Cordell, great-grandchildren; William Johnson, Brantley Andreas, and Blaire Johnson, sister and brother-in-law; Edith and Robert (Buck) King, sister-in-law; Eula Johnson, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Masonic service 7 PM Friday, with funeral service to follow in Atchley's Seymour Chapel with Pastor David Burnette and Rev. Ken Stansberry officiating. Interment 11AM Saturday in Providence Cemetery with full military honors provided by the American Legion Post No. 104.
