Ruby Mae Shoemaker, devoted mother and grandmother passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2002 after a long illness.
She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by parents, Duke and Amanda Holt; husband, Forrest Shoemaker; daughter, Louise Ramsey; grandson, Marc Lawson; son-in-law, John Lawson; sisters, Daisy Reese, Ola Rea, Lucy Campbell, Mary Clevenger, Sarah Clevenger, and Alma Lane; brothers, Bill Holt, Hubert Holt, and T.B. Holt.
She is survived by her daughter, Joann Lawson, of Dandridge; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Glenn Householder, of White Pine; Judy and Ed Layman, of Newport; sister, Edith Mills, of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Sandy Ramsey, of Los Angeles, CA; Sherry Strange and her husband, Bryce, of Newport; Honey Barnes, of Newport; Marcy Hooks and her husband, C.W., of Atlanta, GA; Ricky Ramsey, of Newport; Chris Lawson, of Dandridge; Pam Lawson, of Jefferson City; Charley Layman and his wife, Vicki, of Knoxville; Jennifer Andrews, of Knoxville; nine great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many very special nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2002 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. J.D. Sisk, Rev. Harold Mills, and Father Steve Thompson officiating, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Manes Funeral Home.
