She retired from Electro Voice after 35 years. She was a member of Rankin Missionary Baptist Church where she played the piano for 57 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Phillip (J.P.) Blazer and Lucille Inez Gorrell; and sister, Frieda Clark. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Tommy Cody; children, Pam (Buck) Marshall of Newport; Jeff (Missy) Cody of Newport; and Sharon (Benny) Hensley of Greeneville; brother, Jimmy Blazer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John Clark, Bea Morefield, Grace Hill, Jeter and Gerry Cody, Clayton and Edna Cody and Clarence Cody; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 13, 2012 at Rankin Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Greene and Rev. David Alder officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Manes Funeral Home.
