Elsie Ayers, 95, of Poplar Springs Road, Greeneville, went to be with the Lord Monday morning, January 16, 2006, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was a homemaker. She was a member of O & S Chapel United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a farmer, mother, grandma, great-grandma, great-great-grandma, and loving friend to all. Survivors: three daughters and sons-in-law: Jane and Floyd Wooley, Pine Bluff, AR; JoAnn and Johnny Tweed, Greeneville; and Gail Ayers and William Jacobs, Galveston, Tex.; 13 grandchildren: Tammy and David Lancaster, Caney Branch; Janet and Danny Pelton, Fayetteville, AR; Patty and John Chandler, Chesapeake, VA; Dennie Southerland, Pine Bluff, AR; Jonathan and Kim Tweed, Caney Branch; Julie and Wes Carter, Parrottsville, TN; and Blair and Amanda Linville, Lenox, MA; 24 great-grandchildren: Philip and Melissa Thompson, Brandy and Roudy Henley, Justin Lilly, Daniel and Sarah Pelton, Beau and Marcy Southerland, Brandon Southerland, Stephen Southerland, Jessica Southerland, Justin Southerland, Brent Southerland, Shane Southerland, Jordan and Alex Chandler, Cameron and Hannah Tweed, Brian Shelton, Grant Linville, Rebecca and Rodney Raines, Jessica Lancaster; 5 great great grandchildren: Tara and Wesley Thompson, Lillyan Henley, McKenzie Southerland, and Brooke Raines; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friend. She was the daughter of the late James A. and Sarah Gregg Mooneyham and was preceded in death by her husband: Therian Ayers; brothers: Houston Mooneyham, Walter Mooneyham, Glen Mooneyham, James Mooneyham, and Harley Mooneyham; sisters: Orphie Mooneyham, Susie Gregg, Cynthia Mooneyham, Ann Ottinger, Emma Hawk, and Dorothy Rader. Funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2006, at Kiser Funeral Chapel. Entombment will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday in GreeneLawn Mausoleum. The Rev. Ricky Clowers, the Rev. Kenneth Newman, and the Rev. Sam Smith will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Danny Pelton, Brandon Southerland, Dennie Southerland, Blair Linville, Justin Lilly, and Beau Southerland. Honorary pallbearers will be members of O & S Chapel United Methodist Church and members of the The Rev. Ricky Clowers, the Rev. Kenneth Newman, and the Rev. Sam Smith will officiate.Active pallbearers will be Danny Pelton, Brandon Southerland, Dennie Southerland, Blair Linville, Justmembers of O&S ChaCaney Branch Caney Branch Community. The body is at Kiser Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday preceding the funeral service.
