Della Ellison Lunsford, age 87, of Newport, passed away Monday morning, November 29, 2004, at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County.
She was a member of Deep Gap Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Emmett Lunsford; parents, William Isaac and Rhoda James Ellison; sisters, Audrey Laws Dockery, Wilma Whitmire, Elsie Johnson, Gladys Key, and Eunice Butcher; brothers, Keppy Ellison, Joe Ray Ellison, and Eulas Ellison.
She is surived by her son, Alwayne Lunsford and wife, Ann, of High Point, N.C.; daughter, Shirley Mooneyhan and husband, Marcus, of Newport; granddaughter, Melanie McCollum and husband, Chet, of Newport; grandsons, Tim Lunsford and wife Peggy, of Kingsport; Greg Lunsford and wife Ayako, of Mililani, Hawaii; Doug Mooneyhan and wife Angela, of Woodstock, Ga.; three great-grandchildren, Justin McCollum, of Muncie, Ind.; Peyton Mooneyhan and Marcus Randall Mooneyhan, of Woodstock, Ga.; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Azzalea Willis, Mrs. Annie Seay, Mrs. Jonita Lunsford, all of Newport; Mrs. Orpha Lunsford, of Marshall, N.C.; and Mrs. Marie Ellison, of Archdale, N.C.; special niece, Ruby Laws Pickard, of Orange, Tex.; special cousins, Paul and Emma James, of Newport; special caregiver, Judy Cagle; also several nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at Manes Funeral Home Chapel, followed by the funeral services at 8:00 p.m., with the Rev. Hal Kirk and Rev. Craig Ward officiating.
Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning in Union Cemetery.
