Moas "Bob" Seay, age 78, of Belleville, MI, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at St. Mary's Hospital in Livonia, Michigan. He was born February 15, 1936, in Del Rio, Tennessee, son of Creed and Minnie (Lee) Seay.Bob will be remembered for his positive and welcoming spirit to all he encountered. He was kind and generous, always demonstrating a loving, steadfast support of family, friends and church. He was a devout Christian and member of Lincoln Community United Methodist Church, in Ypsilanti, Michigan. A devoted husband, he enjoyed studying the Bible, gardening and traveling with his wife. Following his retirement from Cadillac Motor Company, he and his wife also enjoyed working together as owners of an appliance sales and repair business. Spending time with his family was his favorite pastime and he especially delighted in attending any school or sporting events involving his grandchildren. He also looked forward to annual family reunions in Del Rio where he could reconnect and enjoy time with his brothers and sisters and their families.A native of the beautiful Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee, he was a lifelong fan of the University of Tennessee Volunteers, particularly the basketball and football teams. He also enjoyed attending and watching NASCAR races and the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions sporting events.He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army.Mr. Seay is survived by his five children Cynthia (Dean) Leathers of Northville, MI, Catherine (Robert, Jr.) Ostrowski of Canton, MI, Robert (Patricia) Seay of Belleville, MI, Kirsten (Robert) Slagle of Allen Park, MI, and Kimberley (Reynaldo) Martell of Belleville. Bob had fourteen grandchildren: Crystal Donaldson, David Donaldson, Derek Leathers, Claire Ostrowski, Christopher Ostrowski, Connor Ostrowski, Robin Seay, Megan Seay, Alyssa Slagle, Tyler Slagle, Hunter Slagle, Reynaldo Evan Martell, Sabrina Martell, Amelia Martell, and three great-grandchildren Noah Pardy, Kalyn Leathers and Anya Harris. His family also includes brothers Tois (Diane) Seay and Edgar (Marlene) Seay and sisters Iris Queener, Lois (Joe) Willis, Roise Wells, and Mary Ruth Shulaw, and brother-in-law Verlin Robbins. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Martha (Harrison) Seay, who passed away on January 19, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents Creed and Minnie, his step-mother Minnie, brother Ois Hoover Seay, sister Joyce Robbins, brother-in-law Al Queener, and sister-in-law Mary Margaret Seay. Visitation was from 2:00--4:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014, at David C. Brown Temporary Viewing & Funeral Chapel, 500 E. Huron River Dr., Belleville. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at Lincoln Community United Methodist Church, 9074 Whittaker Road, Ypsilanti, MI 48197. Rev. Sherry Seay from Dandridge, TN officiated. Interment was in Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock, MI.Memorial contributions to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen (cskdetroit.org) would be greatly appreciated by the family in lieu of flowers.
