Stinnett, Charles Russell of Walland, died Thursday, October 25, 2001 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a charter member of Oak View Baptist Church. He retired from ALCOA with 30+ years of service and was a member of their 25-Year Club. Prececed in death by: Wife, Athelena Branton Stinnett; Parents, Russell & Lutisha Stinnett; Brothers, Carl, Richard, and Rellie Stinnett; Sisters, Pearl Stinnett and Eula Stinnett McClanahan.
Survivors include: Son and Daughter-in-law, David & Doris Stinnett of Maryville; Daughter and Son-in- law, Devaughn & Jerry Jones of Walland; Grandchildren, Spencer Stinnett, Covalyn & husband Greg Tucker, Mendy Jones; Great Grandchildren, Zeke, Natalie & Nicole Tucker; Brothers- and Sisters-in-law, Jack & Sara Branton of Greer, SC, Elmer & Sandra Branton of Farragut, Cecil & Ruth Branton of Walland; Sister-in-law & husband, Opalee & Clarence Cunningham of Walland; Sisters-in-law, Ruth Stinnett of Walland, Nancy Stinnett of Maryville and Jewell Branton of Maryville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Saturday, October 27, 2001 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Glenn Gamble officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 28, 2001 at Grandview Cemetery for the interment. Pallbearers will be Terry Branton, Spencer Stinnett, Greg & Zeke Tucker, Chris Branton, Jim Branton, Vincent Branton, Mark Weeks, Barry Armstrong. Friends may call at their convenience after 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 27, 2001 at Smith Mortuary. Family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:00 PM, Saturday, October 27, 2001, Trinity Chapel, Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000.
