Pearl Phillips Greene, 78, passed away Tuesday evening at the Baptist Hospital of Cocke County following a lengthy illness. She was a member of the Pigeon Valley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Messer Greene. She is survived by her children, Virginia Greene, of Hartford, and Christine Humphrey and William D. Greene, both of High Point, NC; sisters, Maybelle Phillips, of Kingsport and Lucille Phillips, of Newport; grandchildren, Debbie Johnson, Danny Ray Humphrey, and Faye Ownby, all of Sevierville; great-grandchildren, Donovan Johnson, and Justin and April Cody, all of Sevierville. The funeral was conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Brown Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ransom Hall officiating. Interment was in Union Cemetery. The family received friends Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Brown Funeral Home was in charge.
