(August 23, 1941 - September 6, 2006) Charles David “Bud” “Cigar” Allen, age 65 of Del Rio, passed away, Tuesday, September 5, 2006. He was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur Dennis and Nelle Owens Allen. He is survived his son, Charles David Allen, II and his wife Mary Ellen, of Newport; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Glenda Allen, of Newport, Owen and Viola Allen, of Boston; sisters, Willian Stokley and husband Wiley Joe, Lynn A. Russell, Carol Sawyer and husband Charles all of Del Rio, and Margaret Sorrell of Newport; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, September 9, 2006 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Fred Cagle officiating. Burial will follow in Big Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Friday, September 8, 2006 at Manes Funeral Home. Family will be at 1709 Blue Mill Road, Del Rio.
