After graduation from Pickett County High School, she moved to Cocke County in East Tennessee. There she did Bible visitation in the schools with her father for 37 years after the death of her mother in 1953. She was preceded in death by her parents, and infant sister, Mary Carolyn Harer, a nephew Donnie Wayne Harer and a great niece Shelley Renee Strange. She is survived by brothers; Robert Eugene Harer and wife Pat Harer of Newport, TN and Charles Richard Harer and wife Beulah of Cosby, TN. one niece Joy Harer Strange and husband, Larry of Newport, TN and a nephew Kenneth Eugene Harer and wife Diana of Beckley, WV, also great nephews, Jordan Strange, Daniel Harer, and great nieces, Kelli Strange, Maria Harer, and Christina Harer. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Tennova Newport Convalescent Center and Smoky Mountain Home Hospice for all their compassionate care and kindness. Family will receive friends Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 12pm-2pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 2pm with Kenneth Harer and Randall Freeman officiating.
