(February 26, 1941 - May 15, 2015) Betty Ruth Gilbert Henderson, age 74, of Newport, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at her home. She was a member of Newport Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harmon and Carrie Gilbert; daughter, Tammy Stoner; brother, Moody Gilbert; sisters, Helen Kitchen and Addie Holt; special nephew Billy Gilbert. She is survived by her husband, Charles “Chuck” Henderson; son, Timmy J. Gilbert; daughter, Poochie Gilbert (Jessie) Gowans all of Newport; sister, Sadie Steelman, Houston Valley; grandchildren, Cody Gilbert, of Newport, Ian Stoner of Greenwood, SC, Gracie Patel of Indiana; special niece, Vickie Gilbert of Newport; also several, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Sunday, May 17, 2015 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Tommy Golmon and Brother John Daniels officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 am Monday, May 18, 2015 in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Sunday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
