He was preceded in death by his wife, AllieJean Cogdill Mathis; grandparents, Andrew and Anna Mae Stokely and Zelma and Russell McMahan; and niece, Jaclyn Brooke Laws. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Jacob and Kim Mathis, of Del Rio, and son, Ronald Jack Mathis, of Del Rio; parents, Jack and Nelle Mathis, of Del Rio; brothers and sisters-in-law, Randy and Tammy Mathis, of Del Rio, and Ricky Mathis and Sherah Wilson, of Del Rio; sister, Barbara Mathis, of Del Rio; sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Rick Laws, of Cosby. Additional survivors include a Special Companion, Brenda Ellison and her children, Sherman Ellison and Kim Cortez; nieces and nephews, Stephanie Holt, Travis Worley, Shane (Kathy) Mathis, Jonathon Laws, and Brittany Mathis, and several special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday. July 28, 2004, at the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lester McMahan and Brother Graydon Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Stokely Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. Tuesday evening at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home. Arrangements by Costner-Maloy.
