Stokely, Mr. Jessie "Ray" - age 67, of Harriman, TN went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 23, 2007 in the Roane Medical Center, Harriman. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 27, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Evans Mortuary in Rockwood with Rev. Waylon Payne and Rev. David Tapp officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Roane Memorial Gardens in Rockwood. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 26 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Evans Mortuary. Mr. Jessie “Ray” Stokely, age 67, of Harriman, TN went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 23, 2007 in the Roane Medical Center, Harriman. He was born March 2, 1940 in Cocke County, TN. Mr. Stokely was a retired Police Officer and Police Chief with the Harriman Police Department and was also a retired auto technician with Firestone in Farragut. Mr. Stokely was a Christian and of the Baptist faith and attended the Lee Village Baptist Church in Harriman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milford & Carrie Stokely; and brother, Robert Stokely, formerly of Traveler’s Rest, SC.
