Known to most everybody as "Pappy", Joe was a kindhearted, giving and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was born and raised in Union County, Tennessee, spending his adult life in Seymour, devoted to family and friends. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church and the Order of the Masons. He spent many years in the automobile business as a dealer and salesman. His wife, Bennie Jean Montgomery Vandergriff, preceded him in death in 2001. Survived by sons, Steve and Michael, granddaughter, Brianna; and great grandson Landon. Interment will be Saturday June 13, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Knob Creek Cemetery.
