HUDSON, JR., JAMES ROBERT "J.R." - prominent East Knoxville accountant and decorated WWII Veteran died Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at Northhaven Health Care Center following an extended illness. Mr. Hudson was a Certified Public Accountant in the Knoxville area for many years having been employed by the Tennessee Valley Authority and Martin-Marietta Y-12 prior to his retirement. He was a highly decorated Veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army and was an active member of Roseberry Baptist Church until his health declined. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Iva Marie Compton Hudson; sister, Hazel Morgan; and parents. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, James R. Hudson III and wife Barbara of Knoxville; daughter, Carolyn Diane Hudson of Knoxville; grandchildren, Jerome Hudson, Jody Hudson and wife Sabrina, and Justin Hudson; great grandchildren, Braden Hudson, Sadie and Jonah Hudson; sister, Marie Salvedge of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Reverend Kenny Shinlever officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:15 a.m. Friday at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel and proceed to Roseberry Cemetery for a 10:00 a.m. interment service with military honors given by the Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard.
