John Lee Coffey, 83, of Seymour died Friday, August 10, 2001, at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. He served in the European Theater in World War II in the 5th Army. He was a member of Marble Springs Baptist Church in Marble, N.C., and the Masonic Lodge in Hancock, N.Y.His parents were Smith and Ethel Adams Coffey.Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Paul Bales; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Annette and Sam Rollins; sisters-in-law, Kay Coffey and Buelah Coffey; brothers-in-law, Sam and Jack Younce; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, a great-nephew and friends.He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Younce Coffey; three sisters; and two brothers.The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Highland South Funeral Home.A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday with he Rev. Melvin Faulkner officiating.Memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International, P.O. Box 429, Seymour, TN 37865.

COFFEY, MR. JOHN LEE - 83 of Seymour passed away Friday, August 10, 2001 at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. Mr. Coffey served in the European Theater in World War II in the 5th Army. He was a member of Marble Springs Baptist Church, Marble, NC, also was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Hancock, NY. Mr. Coffey was preceded in death by his parents, Smith & Ethel Adams Coffey; wife, Helen Younce Coffey; sisters, Stella Byrd and Blanche Beck; brothers, Clyde & Vance Coffey.
Survived by sister & brother in law, Mildred & Paul Bales; sister in law, Mildred & Paul Bales; sister in law & brother in law, Annette & Sam Rollins and children, Brian, John Rollins, and Sis Mikels; nephews, Merrill & Giles Trull, Ricky, David, Jerry & John Coffey; nieces, Linda Welch, Sharon Teffeteller, Brenda Daugherty, Barbara Ratliff, Becky Mills, and Debbie Lee; sisters in law, Kay Coffey & Buelah Coffey; brothers in law, Sam & Jack Younce; friend and caregiver, Thelma Beaver; friends. Bill and Carolyn Watson, Bill Welch, and Sali Trull; great nieces, Scarlett Householder and Cheryl Houser; great nephew, Pete Teffeteller. The family will receive friends today Sunday, August 12, 2001 from 6-8:30 p.m. at Highland South Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, August 13, 2001 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Melvin Faulkner officiating.
