Goddard, Truman M. age 71 of Madisonville died Friday, April 8, 2005 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Colorado. He was Owner and President of Architectural Sales Hardware Co. in Denver, CO since 1982 until he retired in 2000. He was formerly employed by Schlage Lock Co. for 23 years. He was well known and respected throughout the Mid-West and Rocky Mountain States. Truman and Ailene grew up in Blount County and after 50 years away moved back home to be near their family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Preceded in death by: Parents, Houston & Ruby Goddard; Mother-in-law and Father-in-law, Ray C. & Bess Roberts.
Survivors include: Wife of 53 years, Ailene Roberts Goddard; Sons, Garry Max Goddard of St. Louis, MO and Chris Alan Goddard of Sweetwater, TN; Son and Daughter-in-law, Charles Ray "Chuck" and Ronda J. Goddard of West Virginia; Seven Grandchildren; Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law, Max & Pat Roberts of Vonore; Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law, Betty Rhea & Harold Caldwell of Greenback and Mary Sue and Joe Smith of Springfield, MO; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 8:00 PM, Sunday, April 10, 2005 at Smith Mortuary. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 11, 2005 at Pleasant Hill Methodist Cemetery for the interment. Family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Sunday, April 10, 2005 at Smith Mortuary, Maryville, 865-983-1000.
