Goldman James McMillon, age 87, of Sharon Ave., N.W., Lenoir, NC died Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Lenoir HealthCare Center. He was born May 9, 1920 in Cocke County, Tennessee to the late Henry C. and Martha Williamson McMillon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Andy McMillon, Gordon McMillon, and Amos McMillon; and a sister, Flo Jenkins. Mr. McMillon was retired from Thurston Motor Lines as a truck driver with 30 years of service and attended Philadelphia Primitive Baptist Church. He was also a member of the C.C.C. during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Carrie Phillips McMillon of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Janette Hendrix and husband Paul and Mrs. Judy Anders and husband James, all of Lenoir; two brothers, Kenneth McMillon of San Diego, California and Joe McMillon of Lenoir; four sisters, Mrs. Ila Wood, Mrs. Tilda McMillon, Mrs. June Enloe, all of Lenoir and Mrs. Ruth St. Clair of Taylorsville; three grandchildren, James Anders II, Jason R. Anders, and Joshua Hendrix, all of Lenoir, and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 24, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by James Anders II. Interment will follow at Philadelphia Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery on the Clark’s Chapel Road in Lenoir. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00-8:30 PM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood St., Lenoir, NC 28645. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry McMillon, Glenn Kirby, Bruce Craig, Wayne Jenkins, Lee St. Clair, Dwayne Anderson, Jason Anders and Joshua Hendrix.
