Jimmy L. Maples, 61, Albany, passed away Thursday afternoon, February 3, 2005, at Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born in McCreary County, Kentucky, August 19, 1943, the son of Edna Gregory Maples and William I. Maples. Jimmy lived most of his life in the Muncie area.
Before he retired, he worked at Brodericks and for the Yellow Cab Company.
He was a member of the East Side Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Maples was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Maples, Muncie and Lisa White, Muncie; five brothers, Roy Maples, (wife-Betty), Cincinnati, Ohio, Clifford Maples, (wife-Dot), Seymour, Tennessee, Clinton Maples, Lebanon, Tennessee, Glen Maples, (wife-Sheila), Indianapolis, Gene Maples, (wife-Diane), Knoxville, Tennessee; three sisters, Geraldine Dillman, (husband-Jerry), Indianapolis, Ruby Dixon, (husband-Gerald), Indianapolis, and Shirley Parksey, Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Jewell Maples, who passed away March 20, 2002.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday in the chapel of The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory with Pastor Danny Lewis and Pastor Albert Clark officiating.
Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie.
Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday or after 10:30 a.m. Monday.
