MIZE, CHARLES EDWARD - 85 of Seymour, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2005 at his home. He retired from Allied Structural Steel and served in the Army from 1942- 1946 during World War II.
He was preceded in death by: his first wife, Frankie Sutton Mize; parents, Lewis and Minnie Lee Mize; sister, Lillie Johnson; brothers, Tommy, George and James Olive Mize.
He is survived by: his wife, Ruth Evelina Mize; children, Carolyn Blaylock of Ithaca, NY, Kenneth Mize of Strawberry Plains, Carolyn Dossett of New Market, Beatrice Fletcher of Luttrell, Toni Litton of Seymour, Kathy Collins of New Market; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Jane Manes; brothers, Luther Mize and Joe Mize.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at Highland South with funeral services to follow. Rev. Jack Cook, Rev. Tommy Bellamy and honorary minister Frank Cannon to officiate. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Highland South with Chad, Keith and Kevin Dossett, Wesley Mize, Alvin Collins, Jr., and Chuck Premblay serving as pallbearers and Staff Sergeant Brad Dossett U.S. Air Force as honorary pallbearer. Arrangements are by Highland South Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations, 573-7300.
