U.S. Veteran Charles Ernest Webb age 81 of Newport passed away Oct. 19, 2006 in Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee, Knoxville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in WWII. He was preceded in death by his daughter Joni Webb. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Edna Pack Webb of Newport, son Gary Webb and wife Linda of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, daughter Kathy Troncone and husband Fred of Cincinnati, Ohio , son Steve Webb of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, son Charles Bufford (CB) Webb of Newport, daughter Aleicia Joni Webb of Greeneville, Tennessee, step-children Michael Lynn Dickerson, David Lynn Dickerson, Steven Lynn Dickerson all of Newport, brother Lloyd Webb and wife Faye of Cleveland, Ohio, 20 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 8 p.m. Saturday Oct. 21, 2006 at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul B. Pratt officiating. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday Oct. 22, 2006 in Union Cemetery with L/Cpl Charles Roberts DAV Chapter 102 officiating. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
