Vernon Aubry Fain, age 83 of Pigeon Forge, TN. passed away Sunday, May 13, 2001 at Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee. He was a member of Henderson Chapel Baptist Church; a longtime businessman and owner of Fain’s Poultry Farm; and had 19 years of service with Alcoa Aluminum Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth LaFollette Fain; parents, Jake and Dora Fain; son, Ronnie A. Fain; son-in-law, Fred “Doc” McCarter.
Survivors: Wife: Dorothy Kopp Fain Daughter and son-in-law: Carolyn and Johnny Smelcer Daughter: LaVerne McCarter Daughter-in-law: Janice Fain-Ailey Grandsons: Nicky McCarter and wife Cindy; Brian Fain and wife Anna; Chad Fain Twin great-granddaughters: Alexis and Skye McCarter Brothers: Ferrell Fain, Maryville; Maurice Fain, Sevierville; Marvin Fain, Texas Sisters: Imogene Chance, Oklahoma; Wynell Henderson, South Carolina Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 7 PM Tuesday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Maples and Rev. Andy Ball officiating. Interment 1 PM Wednesday in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be David and Richard Dowling, Mitch McGill, Chad and Brian Fain, Nicky McCarter. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Tuesday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville,TN.
