Johnson, Katherine Cerneal Palmer –age 87, of Knoxville (Riverdale Community) passed away at UT Medical Center on Monday, May 29, 2006. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Union Valley and Riverdale Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, mamaw and friend to everyone she knew. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, James Edgar, an infant daughter, Brenda; parents, John and Hattie Palmer; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Evelyn Palmer; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lavon and Everette Noe, Irene and Ford Dinkins, Wanda and Homer Parton. Survivors She is survived by her loving family: daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Gartman Baldwin, Knoxville; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Lana Johnson, Knoxville; daughter and loving caregiver, Kay Monday, Knoxville; son-in-law, Eddie Monday, Knoxville; grandchildren, special granddaughter, Allyson Monday, Cathy and Ronnie Joiner, Mike and Marvina Baldwin, all of Knoxville, great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Suzanne Joiner, Jessica and James Baldwin; sister and brother-in-law, Opal and Roy Hodges, Seymour; sister-in-laws, Virginia Rickett, Seymour, Evelyn Johnson, Sweetwater and Nelle Lane, who was also a very special friend; brother-in-law, Oscar Johnson, Seymour; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mayford and Ruby Johnson, Seymour; also many nieces, nephews and special friends. Special thanks to her son-in-law Gartman Baldwin who loved her like a mother and faithfully transported her to and from doctor visits and dialysis. Service The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Wednesday followed by funeral services at 8 PM, Berry Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Mike Vincent officiating. Family and friends will meet at Boyds Creek Cemetery on Thursday for 11 AM interment services.
