Hodges, 74, of Seymour went home to be with the Lord on Thursday Nov. 20, 2008. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Seymour. She is preceded in death by her parents; John and Hattie Palmer, her daughters; Judy Cruze and Betty Dunn, and several brothers and sisters. Survivors: Husband; Roy Hodges, Sr. Daughter: Kathy Johnson Son and daughter-in-law; Roy Jr. and Nancy Hodges Daughter and son-in-law; Pam and Kenny Helton Son-in-law; Larry Cruze Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews Special friends; Della Ogle, Ola Cruze, and Mrs. Kirby The Family extends special thank yous to the staff of Girling Home Health Care for working on getting Opal back on her feet. The staff of 8 East at U.T. Hospital for making her last hours as comfortable as possible. Dr. Philip Meyette and staff and Dr. James Yates and staff for the loving care and attention they gave her. The staff of Shoney’s on Chapman Hwy. for always making sure she had a good meal and lots of friendship. Funeral service 4 PM Sunday at Atchley’s Seymour Chapel. Pastor Bruce Yates and Rev. Dallas Gibson officiating. She will be laid to rest 11 AM Monday in Boyd’s Creek Cemetery. Pall Bearers will be her grandsons; Roy Hodges III, Charles Hodges, Chris Hodges, and Justin Johnson and sons-ion-law; Larry Cruze and Kenny Helton.
