Dewey Buford King, Sr. (Eightball) age 81 of Sevierville, TN. passed away on September 30, 2008 at his residence.
Born July 17, 1927 to his parents, William “Billy” and Mandy Ownby King on Dudley Creek. Dewey married Lillie Mae Green King, mother of his children.
Dewey was preceded in death by parents, William and Mandy Ownby King; wife, Lillie Mae King; son, William Columbus King (W.C.) ; sister, Hazel S. Rayfield; brothers-in-law, Mitchell Clabo, Wayne Green and Earl Starkey.
He leaves behind his Loving Family, Son, Dewey B. King, Jr. and wife, Brenda; Daughters, Mettie Whaley and husband, Harold; Wilma Kelly and husband, George (Meatcutter); grandchildren, Tony Shular and fiance, Sandy, Adam Shular, Nathan Whaley and Wife, Shirley; great grandchild, Tony Shular, Jr. (T.J.); sisters, Dell Clabo and Ruth Green; Brothers, Rev. Willie Dee King and wife, Bessie; Billy Bruce King and wife, Iva; Loy King and wife, Treves; second wife, Vyril McCarter King and family; several nieces, nephews, friends and fishing friends.
The family would like to express special thanks to his caregivers, Kathy James, Adventa Hospice and Amedisys Services, Chris, Robin, Will and Rev. Jack Hitch.
Services will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2008 at Rawlings Funeral Home in Sevierville with Rev. Jack Hitch and Rev. Bill Helton officiating.
Interment is 11:00 Saturday, October 4, 2008 in Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery. The Family will meet at Rawlings at 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning to go in procession to the cemetery.
The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Thursday October 2, 2008 and Friday October 3, 2008 at Rawlings Funeral Home.
