McCONNELL, SARA BELLE McTEER, - age 89, the last of seven children born to James Edward and Mary Ellen Carson McTeer passed away at her home in Knoxville, Tenn. on Sunday, July 9, 2000. Born October 9, 1910, she graduated from Maryville High School in 1928 and moved to Dearborn, Michigan at the age of 17. She retired from the Veterans Administration in Detroit. She was a member of the Fordson Chapter #484 of Eastern Star. Sara was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh L. McConnell; brothers, Lilburn B. McTeer, Francis J. McTeer, James L. McTeer and Max Wayne McTeer; sisters, Edith M. Woody and Rachel M. Edmondson.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Veronica Corbin of Dearborn, Michigan. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2000, in the McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wilburn C. Hoglen officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Friends Cemetery in Friendsville, Tenn. for the interment service. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville, Tenn.
